A pendant, earrings or another wearable piece can be the outcome of Domed Copper Jewelry with Danielle Brannigan. The three-hour Contemporary Craft workshop on November 5, 2026, gives beginners a hands-on introduction to forming metal while leaving room to experiment with the finished design.
Learning through shape and surface
Participants will learn basic metalsmithing techniques for cutting, shaping and doming copper, then turn their formed pieces into jewelry. The workshop also makes space to try different textures and surfaces, so the choice is not simply which kind of jewelry to make but how the metal itself will look.
No previous metalsmithing experience is required. A pendant and earrings are suggested possibilities rather than a single prescribed design.

A metalworker across scales
Brannigan is a Pittsburgh-based silversmith, blacksmith, artist and educator whose work spans jewelry, sculpture, fabrication and welding. Alongside copper and steel, she is interested in using reclaimed steel and recycled materials.
She is also experimenting with enamel on steel in her own practice. That exploration offers a glimpse of her wider interest in surface and form; enameling is not listed as part of this copper class.

Tuition is $65, with a separate $20 materials fee; all studio materials are included. Full and partial tuition scholarships are available, and applicants can expect a response within two weeks.
