A free Sunday tour in Omaha puts conversation and close looking at the center of an introduction to The Joslyn’s galleries and gardens.

The works on Public Tour: The Joslyn’s Highlights depend on who is leading it. Gallery Volunteers make their own selections for the November 1 tour, giving visitors an introduction to the museum without a fixed, published list of stops.
The tour draws on well-known objects in The Joslyn Art Museum’s galleries and gardens. Its interactive format is intended to build visual literacy: the skills involved in looking at and thinking about art.
That makes it a useful choice for visitors who want a guided introduction rather than a predetermined survey. The museum does not identify the individual works or route for this particular tour, so a favorite object is not guaranteed to be included.

Visitors who want to continue exploring can see the permanent collection galleries with free general admission. Most temporary exhibitions are also included, though selected exhibitions require tickets for visitors age 13 and older; those age 12 and younger enter ticketed exhibitions free.
